Good morning Sitwellians.
I’m sure by now you will have all seen the latest news from the Government.
As it stands, from Today, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and parts of Derbyshire have been raised to Tier 2 - High, where the following applies:
you must not socialise with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place
That means, realistically, cafe stops are out. We can’t guarantee there’ll be outdoor seating available and as the weather turns you are going to want to head indoors to keep warm. As such, the Committee have instructed Ride Captains to cap the length of rides, even altering routes or reducing the distance if the weather is poor.
The rides will be capped at the following lengths:
Green - 30 miles
Amber - 40 miles
Red - 50 miles
We’re of the opinion, alongside British Cycling and the Government that cycling and sport, in general, is not only good for physical health but mental health, so plan as a club to continue to put on rides as long as we’re allowed.
Club rides are still members only and booking is done through Eventbrite.
We appreciate some of you may be in the at-risk groups and wish to social distance from the rest of us and that’s fine. Stay safe and we’ll see you when this all blows over.
