Ride Report - Misterton
A small group of 7 of us set off to Dovecote Café in Misterton with Vice-Chairman Andy leading a full Sunday ride for the first time. We had a few absentees due to holidays, end of the football season and sportives.
We now have 18 members, thanks for believing in us.
This was our longest club route to date and very flat.
We had perfect cycling conditions. Little wind, and the fog soon lifted to produce a scorcher of a day with not a cloud in the sky.
The roads on the whole were good, and very long and straight in the miles approaching the cafe and from it. Lots of countryside and quite scenic.
We've already planned another ride out here later in the summer.
The cafe was very easy to find, just situated on the side of the route road. With somewhere to sit outside as well as inside and it being such a lovely day we all ate and drank outside. Plenty of food and drink options also. Very nice and good service.
To date this was our best club run riding as a group. 2 abreast column at junctions as well as in general riding. A very good average speed and more over we stayed together solid as a group until the end.
Well done to everybody.
For those that are interested, the next ride is a relatively short but rolling one over to Cusworth Hall on May 22.
