Ride Report - Misterton

Just 5 of us headed off on this one, with 4 being club members and Gary joined us again.

Low in numbers but not in club spirit.

It started off warm and cloudy but by the time we got to the cafe stop there was only one word for it… Scorchio!

The route

This was our second outing to Misterton. Very flat and in general very good roads.

You can't help but think of the Romans on departure of the cafe with the roads being so flat, open, long and straight.

The head/cross winds emphasised this but would be a whole lot worse in the winter months.

Café stop

The first thing we noticed when we arrived at the cafe was it had changed hands. No longer the Dovecote Cafe but now called The Pantry.

Very different inside and out. It now has a more upmarket buzz about it. Not that there was anything wrong with how the cafe was before, but it has changed for the better and has still retained reasonable prices.

Common consensus on the day was the food and drink was excellent.

We sat out in the red hot sun and ate our butties etc.

We really seem to be hitting on some good cafes of late.

Group riding

To say this was quite a pacy ride we rode excellent as a group. Turns on the front and easing off the pace occasionally when necessary.

Well done to everybody, exactly how it should be, pace to suit all, together as a group.

For those who are interested, our next ride is this Sunday 24th July to Askern. Another relatively flat one as a whole. Hope to see you there, new and old:-)
