Sitwell Cycling Club, Whiston, Rotherham

Rotherham's newest cycle club serving Whiston, Rotherham and the surrounding areas. We have members from Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley

Founded January 2016 after a bunch of mates decided they'd like to join a club that was for the good times with a little bit of racing too and felt there wasn't one in the vicinity that met their needs.

We're a not-for-profit, volunteer run organisation registered to British Cycling - affiliation number: 537309.

We are keen to support local and national charities by either taking part in, or running, charity events and activities. Our members have supported the CF Trust in the past and we are working with the Rotherham Hospice on raising funds for them during 2019.

Primarily a social cycling club, our core activity is the Sunday Cafe Ride. We also meet on Saturday mornings, and on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening too.

We run annual events (like our Summer BBQ and Christmas party) where all members and their families can enjoy activities together.

So come and give us a try - no obligation to join unless you enjoy your ride with us enough to make you want to repeat the experience.

Whether you are a beginner, returning competitive cyclist or triathlete looking to improve your cycling performance Sitwell Cycling Club will provide you a warm and friendly welcome, whatever your age (If you're under the age of 16 you'll need to be accompanied by a responsible adult).

Membership applications are available on the site as well as a guide to upcoming rides, we look forward to meeting you at the next Sitwell CC event.

Our aims

  • To promote cycling to the people of Whiston, Rotherham (and surrounding areas) and to those who cycle in or near our town
  • To provide an avenue for club members to race and compete by having affiliations to governing bodies (British Cycling)
  • To provide a focus for recreational cyclists and promote the sport at grassroots level
  • To be open to all, and to encourage cycling for everyone
