Return to normality
Some of you will already be aware that on Monday 9th March, British Cycling announced an update to their COVID-19 guidance under the ‘Way Forward Framework’.
As a result, the Committee have decided that, barring further government announcements, club rides will resume with effect from Wednesday 31st March.
Pre-pandemic we would split our groups once they hit 14 riders for safety on the road and we will continue to do that going forward to adhere to the maximum group size of 15 riders as set out by British Cycling. As such, we’ll be dropping the requirement to book onto rides.
For the time being, only members may attend a ride. No guests.
There will also be strict adherence to social distancing guidelines. We expect all attendees to follow all guidance currently in place as set out by the government.
There will be no cafe stops. Please bring sufficient food/gels with you.
If anyone in your household is displaying any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend a ride. You will be asked to leave immediately.
Following Track & Trace protocol, you must also notify us if you show any COVID-19 symptoms within 14 days of attending a ride.
We have to be strict on the above, on group numbers and following ALL guidance set out by the government and British Cycling or the club will not be insured.
It is entirely up to each member to decide whether they are comfortable in returning to club rides and in making your decision you may wish to consider whether or not you have yet been vaccinated, your state of health and personal circumstances.
Nobody is under any pressure to take part in club rides unless they are completely comfortable in doing so. If you choose not to join us just yet, stay safe and we’ll see you soon.
Any questions, please get in touch.
