Ride Report - Chesterfield
The second of this winter's MTB rides was a long flat one out to Chesterfield. Attended by 7 club members, including Phil making his comeback.
The weather wasn't great for the most part with the rain over the previous week making the route very soggy in places.
Starting from the café at Rother Valley we followed the TPT to Chesterfield before joining the canal.
Very flat with only a couple of climbs in Chesterfield centre to note.
We stopped at Nona's on the side of the canal. A great little café that provided a welcome break from the weather and.
Coffees, hot chocolates and bacon butties were consumed.
We sat outside under the canopy as we were caked in mud. They had plenty of seating and blankets to keep us warm.
It's definitely a café to aim for and is also possibly one we could find whilst out on the road bikes too.
Well worth the visit.
Everybody did well, flat terrain helped. So not much to report on the bike handling aspect, what challenging areas existed were dealt with swiftly and safely.
Our next club ride is this Sunday (27th Nov) to Tickhill. A new route and a new café to try. Andy will be leading.
