Ride Report - Eyam
On a bright blustery Sunday morning 14 Club members, joined the 50mile/81km ride out into the Peak District Nation Park Castle
This was a lumpy ride from the off climbing out of Whiston straight into Derbyshire through Killamarsh and into Eckington where we got our first mechanical. Once SCC mechanic Rob repaired the puncture we were back on the road towards Marsh Lane heading towards the Peaks. This was a less busy way into the peaks with lots of quite lanes, short Sharpe climbs and fast descents. Once we entered the Baslow we hit traffic where the group split and half the group decided to visit the flower show at Chatsworth House.
We regrouped and headed back onto the quite county lanes and climbed towards Eyam where we stopped for refreshments.
In the village of Eyam we were spoiled for choice we the advertise café the Village Green and an ice cream parlour. Both where excellent and we will be back this summer for certain.
After the café we had a nice 2.1 mile assent up Nether Pedley Climb towards Fox House where we again regrouped and had a very fast decent all the way to base.
With big climbs we always regrouped after every climb and stuck together on the downhill segments.
