Ride Report - Sherwood Pines
What a place to hold the Club's inaugural Winter MTB ride. 6 of us met on a crisp autumnal day to tackle the sweet berms and drop-offs that Sherwood Pines had to offer.
We took on the Kitchener Trail, which is Sherwood Pines Red Route. It's a fast flowing course with few technical sections but plenty of single track to put a smile on your face.
We somehow missed the Bike Park section of the route on the first run, so after a quick coffee and slice of pizza we headed back out down the fire roads to find it.
Lots of smiles, plenty of laughs and only one puncture. We'll be back.
We only briefly visited the cafe for a quick refreshment stop and to warm up as it started raining when we finished the first run.
Plenty of food and drink on offer with plenty of seating too. £3 for a slice of pizza may be a little steep though.
Everybody did well, for most it was their first visit to Pines and nothing seemed to put anybody off or was too troubling.
Our next club ride is this Sunday (13th Nov) to Retford. A flat ride out to our favourite cafe - The Broomwagon - which will close it's doors for the last time. So one not to be missed.
Andy will be leading.
