ROTHERHAM 10K - CLUB HIGHLIGHT

Last weekend, six Sitwell Cycling Club members were at the helm of the Rotherham 10K, helping to lead runners around the course — and what a day it was!

We caught up with one of our riders, who has led every Rotherham 10K since it began, to find out what being part of the event means to him. Hear from Richard Nutt, AKA Nutty.

What was it like being part of the Rotherham 10K and helping lead the runners around the course?
"The feeling is surreal, I’ve never known of any cyclists that lead runners on a 10k anywhere in the World. I personally feel very honoured that they ask me every year to lead it with other club members."

How did it feel to see so many runners taking on the 10K, and what was it like riding alongside them?
"I get such a buzz and a feeling of involvement seeing all the runners warming up."

What does it mean to Sitwell Cycling Club to be invited to support events like the Rotherham 10K?
"Because I ride for Sitwell cycling club I feel the passion of what we do and can achieve, I have led every Rotherham 10k since it started and last weekend’s event was the highest attendance in it’s history, and six Cyclists from my club were at the helm, how unique! What all this does is put Sitwell Cycling Club up there on so many different levels and I feel so so very proud!"

If you want to meet Nutty, join him on a Wing it Wednesday ride. Taking place Wednesday evenings, meeting at 6:30pm. It's a 90min solid ride at a pace of 14/16 mph.
